Abstract:
This study studies the comparison of management strategies of venues related to the performing arts industry on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. With so many performance venues on both sides of the Taiwan Strait and only a handful of them being national-level venues, this study used Taipei’s National Theater & Concert Hall and Beijing’s National Centre for the Performing Arts as examples to compare their differences in their management strategies and things they can possibly learn from each other.
This study consists of nine chapters and the main points include the following. The first point talks about matters related to the researcher’s own experiences as it discusses the background, motivation, purpose, process and problems of this research. The second point talks about the venues and business strategies, which includes explaining the definitions of related terminology and talking about their experiences of foreign performance venues. The third point includes relevant literature and theories such as excerpts from official documents and regulations, business cases of performance venues in Europe, America and Asia, and proposing applicable theories as supplements. The fourth point introduces the cases of the performing venues on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, and provides an overview and related practices regarding the interior and exterior environments of the venues, the rise of the performing arts industry on both sides of the Strait, and the strategic direction of operating the venues on both sides of the Strait. The fifth point is an analytical comparison of the practices, which is primarily a collection of the interviews and literature with the stakeholders for these performance venues. The sixth point is the conclusion of this study, which talks about the findings and relevant conclusions, and proposes recommendations for the governments, venues, performing groups, and audiences. This part also talks about future research directions, and these are the six main ideas of this research study.
本論文主要研究兩岸表演藝術產業中有關場館經營策略之比較,有鑑於兩岸表演場地林立,屬於國家級場館屈指可數,本研究以臺北兩廳院與北京大劇院為例,比較其相互間經營策略之差異與可仿效學習之處。
本論文共計九章,主要重點包括以下各項,第一、與筆者本身經歷有關:介紹本研究之背景、動機、目的、流程與問題;第二、與場館和經營策略有關:包含相關專有名詞的字義解釋、與國外表演場館的經驗介紹說明;第三、相關文獻與理論:摘錄官方文獻與條例、歐洲與美洲和亞洲表演場館之經營案例、提出適用之理論作為輔助;第四、兩岸表演場館案例介紹說明:針對兩廳院與大劇院館內和館外環境、兩岸表演藝術產業的興起、兩岸場館經營的策略方向等,提出概況說明與相關作法;第五、兩岸場館實作分析比較:主要彙整兩廳院和大劇院所見以及利害關係人之訪談內容與文獻和理論結合提出比較;第六、本論文之最終結論:以本研究之發現、得出相關結論、針對政府、場館、表演團體與觀眾提出建言,以及未來研究方向等;為本論文主要六大研究構思。
